Hi there!Cách sử dụng Then, After, Afterwards
Những ví dụ sau đều có nghĩa giống nhau, nhưng mỗi câu có lối cấu trúc khác nhau.
- First she went to university. Then she travelled round the world.
- After she went to university, she travelled round the world.
- She travelled round the world after she went to university.
- She went to university. Afterwards, she travelled round the world.
- She went to university, and afterwards she travelled round the world.
Qui tắc:
Chúng ta dùng AFTER để nói về 2 sự việc khác nhau trong một câu. Nó được dùng với sự việc đầu tiên, nhưng nó có thể đứng ở đầu câu hoặc giữa câu.
Ví dụ như:
- After she went to university, she travelled round the world.
- She travelled round the world after she went to university.
Thông thường chúng ta dùng AFTERWARDS ngay ở đầu câu thứ hai để nói về sự việc kế tiếp.
Ví dụ:
- She went to university. Afterwards, she travelled round the world.
Tuy nhiên, đôi khi chúng ta có thể đặt nó ở giữa câu sau các từ như AND hay BUT. Nó có nghĩa như AFTER THAT
Ví dụ:
- She went to university, and afterwards she travelled round the world.

AFTER she got married, she didn't change her name.
Let's go to a restaurant AFER the film.
We went shopping. AFTERWARDS we went bowling.
AFTER the holiday, I felt a bit sad.
AFTER the fight, he said sorry.
My children can only watch TV AFTER they've done their homework.
I was sick for 3 days. AFTERWARDS I felt very weak.
When he told me the truth, I didn't mind at first, but AFTERWARDS I felt really angry.
I had a shower. Then I got dressed AFTER I had brushed my teeth.
